2013 QLD Track Championships

CATS riders registered some outstanding performances in the recent 2013 Qld Track Championships. It was an excellent team-building exercise as our senior riders acted as mentors and role models to the younger riders throughout the championships.

Our U19 riders, all in their first year of this division, were particularly successful with Sean Grimes, having only just turned 16 coming away with 2 gold (1km Pursuit; 10km Scratch Race), 1 silver (Elite Men's Sprint Team with Steve Storer and Ash Elliott) and 2 bronze medals (Sprints and the 3km Pursuit).

Congratulations also go to Riley Maule who in his first track championships took the podium twice winning the bronze medal in the U19 Men's 10km Scratch Race on the first night and repeating this feat in the 72 lap Points Race on the 3rd night. Jordan McCallum achieved personal best times in the 1km pursuit and the Flying 200 then finishing strong in the Keirin final in fourth place, missing out on a bronze medal by a narrowest of margins.

CATS are particularly strong in this division and can look forward to continuing success stories over the next year.
