2012 Kangaroo Point Track Carnival

GC CATS juniors, elite and master riders continue to support each other to produce more fantastic results at the Kangaroo Point Track Carnival at Chandler.

Congratulations to all our riders who participated in the Kangaroo Point Track Carnival.  Our CATS riders were highly successful with Steve Storer winning the progressive points-score and the sprint derby then finishing 2nd in the 1600m handicap (starting off scratch and nearly catching the front marker off 230m). Steve finished the night with a win in the 20 lap motor-pace scratch.  Jaime Kruusmaa represented our female members admirably in all races and claimed 2nd in the combined women's sprint derby.

Jordan McCallum (U19) came 2nd in the wheel race and the sprint derby while Riley Maule (U19) achieved a hat trick of 3rd places in the points-score, moto-scratch race and sprint derby.  The most impressive performance came from Josh Watson (U17) who took a clean sweep winning every race in his category. Lachlan Huntley-Chipper, in his first track carnival, performed well in the points-score race.

Lachlan Fearon (U15) was on form and won the sprint derby and placed 2nd in the scratch race and 3rd in the points-score.  Nathan McCallum (U15) also rode very well in a packed field, just missing out on placing by a narrow margin.
