October has been a month of high emotions for CATS rider Katrin Garfoot. Not only was she awarded Australian nationality but she celebrated this by completing an emphatic win in the National Road Series overall General Classification. Katrin made sure of the title in the recent Tour of the Goldfields in Ballarat by claiming victory in three of the four events. She dominated rival and former teammate Ruth Corset in the Goldfields Tour ensuring her crowning as the dominant rider in the Womens NRS. The 2013 Subaru NRS featured 17 individual events across Australia and over 75 days of racing. The Tour of the Goldfields was the ninth and final event for women.
Congratulations also go to CATS member Jenelle Crookes who rode outstandingly for her team Pensar-Hawk who were top team in the series.
Now that Kat has attained Australian citizenship she now intends aiming for the Australian and Oceania titles and then looking towards a season in Europe hopefully next year. Needless to say, we are all proud of our Kat!
